What would cause engine oil to back flow into where the Air filter sits on a golf cart?

Year in the late 80’s, Make yamaha gasoline engine. Oil level is at full level not over filled and was running well and suddenly started bogging down and eventually stopped running.

The lifters are fowled and air maniful is werecked you know what its guna cost more to fix it.

The engine should still run so it might be just bleeding it might be just foaming up but even with oil in the carbuerator is being flooded.
