Two golf carts on road, go around both or?

Hopefully this is in the right section.

Okay, well, I’m new to driving because I was lazy when I was younger. I just started college and only recently got my drivers license. I don’t know a lot about driving and there are a lot of situations that I don’t know what to do in.

Today I was going home from college. There were two maintenance golf carts from the college on the road in front of me. One was a little ways ahead of the other. The speed limit was slow and I wasn’t in a hurry, so I was fine with having to follow them if need be. I was pretty sure they were going to turn off soon anyway. But the golf cart in front of me motioned me around him.

So I did go around him, but then wasn’t sure about the second golf cart. There was space for me to get in behind him, so I was thinking of if I should have gotten behind him, then passed him. Or just go around him as well. I couldn’t make up my mind and eventually it was too late to get in behind him. Right as I was beside him, a car came from the other direction, so I had to slow and pull over to my side as much as possible until I could get on my side of the road and in front of the golf cart.

Maybe what I did was illegal, I don’t know. That’s the bad thing x.x Should I have pulled in behind the second golf cart, then gone around him, or what? Although l will get behind the second if the situation ever happens again because that really kind of shook me up… but just wondering what I should have done so I will know. Thanks.

      I don’t think that what you did was illegal but since the first one waived you by I would have done the same and got behind the second and waited till he waived me by as well……..never assume…
