I work at a campground during the summer months, and we will put 2 or 3 canoes in a small trailer behind our golf cart. Do it all the time.
Golf carts make great tow vehicles. I live in a small community where a few of our older residents use golf carts as commuter vehicles (no license). And a few of them tow full size utility trailers behind them. As long as your’re towing on level ground you should be okay.
Oh; and accelerate gently if you have a gas model with a belt clutch. These puppies throw belts like crazy if the belts get too hot. If its an electric cart you shouldn’t have any problems at all.
