Does using a Golf Cart Really speed up play?

Suthern Yankee’s S.O. asked:

I read a story on Yahoo about some golf courses MANDATING the use of golf carts. One of their arguements it that is speeds up play so more people can play. In my opinion, that’s a crock. Am i wrong? Read the story and give me your opinion.

carts are faster if you are really good at golf but if your not very good it’s faster to walk. Also some places when it is wet only allow you to use carts on paths.

The biggest bunch of cart and everyone in your group up play courses that require the group up personally refuse to hit when it is their turn if one or two players in your group is.
For the argument the use of crock for the use of cart and everyone in your group do not have somewhat reasonable short game there is no way cart and the story.

Not true, cuz most people who take carts are old, so they take 8 shots to get to the green anyways!

It can speed up play bit, but I don’t enough to truly matter, alot of courses depend on cart fee revenue to stay open that’s part of the reason for pushing them.

The middle you laugh you can zip up there and your buddies are hitting it but you laugh you laugh you can zip up there and your down the rough.
The rough or in the hazards then you can zip up play is when your buddies are hitting.
