Mike Pedersen asked:

Cart golf bags are designed to fit onto a golf cart so that you do not have to carry the bag and so can conserve all your strength for the game. They are different to normal carry bags in that they tend to be larger and bulkier, made from stronger material to give added protection and can carry a wider range of accessories and golf clothing. They also carry a full set of 14 clubs.

Cart Golf Bags Are Heavy - They Are Not Carry Bags!

These types of golf bags are normally a bit too heavy and bulky to lug around the golf course, and have to be used with a golf cart, so if you normally carry your bag do not be attracted by the fabulous designs and capacity, thinking it would be just the thing for you, even if you normally have a caddy, since neither you nor your caddy will appreciate that decision once you get onto the course.

That is why they are called CART golf bags. They are intended to be used with golf carts. Although they can be pretty heavy you should check that you can at least lift it when it is fully loaded. After all, you have to get it from your home to the car, and the car to the golf cart. You have to be able to lift it and secure it the cart. So don’t go wild and purchase the biggest golf bag for your cart you can find without trying it first.

Keep Up With The Fashion

Another point to consider is that these bulky bags can come with designer umbrellas and other accessories for the lady golfers. You can keep up with the latest fashion by purchasing a bag in the latest color and materials and buying matching handbag and accessories. This, of course, should not be your main consideration, but if you regard your golf accoutrements as making a fashion statement, then the field is open.

Do not, however, make the mistake of neglecting the functionality of cart golf bags. You should choose one which also meets your golfing needs. Perhaps you require a golf bag that holds a full set of 14 clubs, and you may want a locking system with individual compartments which holds each club securely, thus avoiding them moving around in the bag and getting damaged.

Make Sure Your Bag Is Functional

You should also make sure that your choice of the cart golf bags on the market has enough pockets for your needs. You may need pockets for your spare golf balls, tees, accessories such as divot tools, golf gloves, rainwear and an umbrella fastener.

All of these, of course also apply to your choice of any type of golf bag, but cart golf bags are especially suitable for customization due to the fact that weight is not so much of an issue. So choose wisely, and enjoy owning a piece of golfing equipment that you feel proud of.

When you want to invest in a new golf cart or trolley, you may want to know which features you should look for, and which are not so important. The only difference in most of the models on the market today is how they are moved from one location to the next, with remote control electric trolleys being the easiest and push trolley and bag taking slightly more effort.

Motor

Obviously, if you have chosen a battery powered electric golf trolley then you will want to know that it is going to be smooth and quiet, and that it will not need constant repairs. You can improve your chances of getting the best quality of motor by choosing a brand that you trust, and asking for an extended warranty in case something does happen to the trolley down the road.

You will also want to know that the motor can climb the hills and valleys of your local golf course, and any other that you wish to visit in the future, and still be lightweight enough to move from the course to home easily. Remember that you will need to load the trolley in and out of your car, so choose one that you can easily handle, without causing any injury to your back.

Accessories

Although accessories may not be too important to you, remember that you will want to use the golf cart or trolley for several year to come. Some accessories can help you keep your caddy in tip top shape, so you will not have to replace or repair it often. If you have chosen an electric trolley, then you will definitely want to choose to buy an extra battery and a charger for your bag.

You should also look at the various methods of recharging your battery without having to resort to mains power. For example, I recharge my batteries using a small wind turbine and a small solar panel, which I have installed on my garage roof.

You may also want to consider purchasing a new tool set for the bag, along with a rain cover in case you get caught on the course in a down pour. You can often find these accessories inexpensively by shopping online, and you should get a charger with the purchase of your new golf trolley.

Wheels

The wheels are second in importance only to the motor, especially if you golf on rugged terrain. You will want to choose airless tires that are made for all terrains, so that you will not have to struggle to move from hole to hole on your course. The wheels should be made of rubber, and should be easy to replace in case they do happen to get damaged over time.

Warranty

Lastly, you will want to make sure that your new golf trolley has an extended warranty, at least to cover repairs and replacement in case the motor goes out. Most high quality machines will come with a one year warranty, but if you have the option for a longer warranty, then it is a good idea to take it. Even though it might cost a few dollars more, you will be protected for up to two years with an extended warranty.

I am looking to make an ordinary golf cart go faster in any way possible. I know the centrifugal clutch limits the speed. Can someone please describe how to remove this and provide any other details as to how to make a golf cart go faster - with or without buying new parts.

Some golf carts’ engine start when the gas pedal is pressed. It’s off until the gas pedal is touched and then it starts. I’m not talking about electric carts, I’m talking about an engine. I’m wanting to make an engine do this and I can’t find what makes that happen. I don’t have the best of knowledge with engines but I do know how an engine works and most part names. I’ve also rebuilt my go-cart engine. If anyone can help it would be most appreciated.

Many golfers who are fortunate enough to own their golf cart have the option of adding to the cart many accessories to make the cart more useful and personalized. The very first thing that golfers do to their golf carts is to change the seating arrangement. This includes changing around the seat covers with something more personal. Some golf seat covers have the golfer’s personal crest or name printed or woven into the material the covers are made out of.

Some people completely re-upholster the seats of the golf carts with pure leather – something few players can afford. When the golf cart is purchased it is nothing but a motorized vehicle with the general components. It is the owner of the golf cart that add accessories like rim covers, roofing, stickers and lights as well as some sort of carriage that will facilitate carrying of additional golf bags.

When choosing the accessories for the golf cart it is best to decide on some sort of theme for the cart decoration. You can pick a theme that will suit everything fro the rims of the golf cart to the bumpers and the color as well. A chrome theme or a dark wood theme are a good way to personalize your golf cart as there are many accessories available in the market that cater to these themes. Replacing everything of the cart may prove to be a bit expensive; however in the end you will have a golf cart that will make your golfing experience all the more fun and exciting.

Some of you might even want to be extravagant and change the entire cart around. If this is your intention than you should inform the golf cart manufacturer to give you the basic golf cart. This will save you a bit of money. Then you can hire the services of a professional golf cart professional that will draw up a number of plans according to the theme you decide then he or she will work on the drawings and present you with a picture of what the final product will look like. Once you are done with the drawing you can let the technicians go to wok building you a personalized golf cart that can become a symbol of your status or presence at the golf clubs around the country.

Some of the best accessories for golf carts would include many body accessories that come in the forma of kits and can be installed on the cart in a matter of minutes. There are also a number of paint and decal jobs that can be applied in just about the same time it takes to paint a registration number of the golf cart.

Should you find that you need some inspiration personalizing your golf cart you just have to browse through the sites on the internet and you will get some very good ideas for your golf cart accessories. The simple truth is that if you can think it you can do it.

1. Gas or Electric?

Before you consider purchasing a golf cart, you need to know what kind of vehicle you will need. The first choice to make is between a gas powered golf cart and an electric golf cart. Both have their pros and cons, and depending on what your use for it will be, either could be best for you. Generally speaking, electric carts will save you a little money but gas powered carts will be better on rougher terrains.

2. Check Around Town

Now that you have decided if you would like gas or electric, you can start looking around. It’s always best to check locally first, because you will want to see the cart yourself before purchase. Google your city and state to look for a golf cart supply store near you. Another great place to find used golf carts is your local golf course. Sometimes they will sell their old carts when they are looking to buy new ones. The reason this is a great place to buy a cart? Because golf courses maintain their carts much better than a normal owner might.

3. Check Online

Looking around online can also be helpful, especially to perform research. It is usually best to see a cart in person before you purchase, but there are some warehouses that have a large selection all available online for you to see. Sometimes with these types of suppliers, you can even schedule a test drive.

4. Test Drive It

With used golf carts, the vehicle needs to look like it is in good shape, but more importantly it needs to drive like it is in good shape. Always insist on both an engine check and a test drive. Be sure to check the brakes, the tires, and the acceleration while you are test-driving the cart. Try to keep in mind your primary use for the cart to be sure you are covering the most important aspects to you.

5. Check The Battery

Take a good look at the battery to be sure it looks either new or in very good shape. Also check that the battery connectors are fully intact and in good shape as well. If the cart has been looked after and taken care of, these parts should look clean and kept.

6. Get a Quote

Once you have found the cart of your dreams, get a quote and asked for a few days to think about it. You can then take the specs of the cart and check online to see how other dealers are pricing them both new and used. If your cart is about average, you probably got a good deal. If it is much more than other carts, print out a few examples to take to the dealer and try to haggle with them.
